Artist Catalog Publication

Recognizing the need in our Community for education through documentation for the purpose of gaining knowledge of periods in the careers of more established artists, phICA responded by launching our Artist Catalog Publication Initiative in late 2015. In partnership with artists, phICA facilitates fundraising for catalogs from supporters in our Community and beyond. During the first 2 years of this Initiative we published 5 artist catalogs.

Paul Wilson

Phoenix-based writer and critic Kathleen Vanesian has adeptly created a book from visual artist Paul Wilson’s “The Kimble Family Photo Album” with an Introduction and text. Each of the characters in the Album are Paul, dressed as the appropriate family member then photographed. Without the use of modern design tools, Wilson created 1950’s and 1960’s vignettes through hand cutting and copy machines. Read about this amazing artist, learn about his time consuming processes, and meet and enjoy the Kimble Family.
